Integration issues

Most integration problems come down to one of a few causes: the connection to an external app has lapsed, a permission setting is too restrictive, the external service itself is having trouble, or Cloa needs to refresh. This page walks through each case and the steps to resolve it.

When an app won't connect

If Cloa can't reach a connected app, your connection to that app may have expired or been revoked from the app's side. Reconnecting restores access.

To reconnect:

  1. Tap MenuIntegrations.
  2. Tap the affected app.
  3. Tap Disconnect.
  4. Tap the app again and sign in to reconnect.
  5. Grant the requested permissions.

Connections can lapse over time, especially if you've changed your password or signed out of the app elsewhere. Reconnecting establishes a fresh link.

When Cloa says it doesn't have permission

If Cloa tells you it can't perform an action on a connected app, the integration's setting is likely Off, or the specific action you asked for needs a higher setting.

To check and adjust:

  1. Tap MenuIntegrations.
  2. Tap the affected app.
  3. Review the permission setting and choose Off, Ask First, or Always based on how much you want Cloa to do on its own.
  4. Try your request again.

For a full explanation of each setting and when to use it, see Permissions.

When an integration stops responding

If a previously working integration goes quiet, there are two likely causes: the external service may be down, or your connection may have expired.

To diagnose:

  1. Open the external service directly (in its own app or website) to confirm it's working. If it's down, wait and try again later.
  2. If the service is up, your connection likely needs to be renewed. Go to MenuIntegrations, tap the affected app, then Disconnect and reconnect.
  3. Ask Cloa to use the integration again to confirm it's working.

When data looks stale

If Cloa returns information that seems out of date, the app may just need to refresh.

To resolve:

  1. Close and reopen the Cloa app.
  2. If the data is still stale, go to MenuIntegrations, tap the affected app, then Disconnect and reconnect.
  3. Confirm the integration has the right access on the external service's side.

General reconnection steps

When in doubt, reconnecting the integration resolves most issues. Use this as the universal fix:

  1. Tap MenuIntegrations.
  2. Tap the affected app, then Disconnect.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Tap the app again, sign in, and reconnect.
  5. Ask Cloa to use the integration to confirm it's working.
