Common issues

This page covers the most common issues people run into with Cloa and how to resolve them. If your problem isn't listed here, check Integration issues or Voice call issues.

App won't load or crashes

Probable cause: An outdated app version or a temporary glitch.

Fix:

  1. Force-close the Cloa app and reopen it.
  2. Check the App Store or Google Play for a pending update, and install it if one is available.
  3. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall Cloa. Your account, chats, and memory stay safe in the cloud.

Messages not sending

Probable cause: A network interruption or a temporary connection issue.

Fix:

  1. Confirm your device has a working internet connection by loading any website.
  2. Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data to rule out a local network problem.
  3. Close Cloa fully and reopen it.
  4. Send the message again.

If messages still don't send after these steps, the issue is usually on the network side and resolves itself within a few minutes.

Morning brief not appearing

Probable cause: No apps are connected to Cloa, or notifications are turned off.

Fix:

  1. Open the Home tab to check your morning brief. The brief generates automatically from your connected apps.
  2. Make sure you have at least one app connected. Without a connected source, Cloa has nothing to summarize.
  3. Confirm that notifications are enabled for Cloa in your device settings.
  4. Ask Cloa directly in chat: "What's my brief for today?"

Learn more about how the brief works in Your morning brief.

Automations not triggering

Probable cause: The automation is paused, the schedule hasn't been reached, or a connected app has been disconnected.

Fix:

  1. Go to MenuAutomations and confirm the automation is enabled, not paused.
  2. Review the trigger schedule and check that the next run time has actually passed.
  3. Verify that the apps the automation depends on are still connected and working.

Memory seems incorrect

Probable cause: Cloa may have saved something you said casually or hypothetically.

Fix:

  1. Ask Cloa in chat: "What do you know about me?"
  2. Identify the fact that's wrong.
  3. Tell Cloa to forget it, for example: "Forget that I mentioned my old address."

A dedicated Memory screen is coming soon. For now, asking Cloa directly in chat is the fastest way to review and correct what it remembers.
